All the folders listed in ‘Local Folders’ in Outlook Express are actually stored with *.dbx file extension on hard disk. These files tend to get corrupt due to common causes, like unexpected shutdown, virus infection, file oversize, and most ironically due to an anti-virus software scanning. Select ‘Sent Items.dbx’ file and right-click it
Click ‘Rename’ or ‘Delete’ (choose this option if you have a backup or the folder doesn’t contain any important e-mail(s)). Type ‘Sent Items1.dbx if you click ‘Rename’
Click ‘OK’ and restart Outlook Express. This recreates the folder(s) that Outlook Express doesn’t find at start
